Fifth Annual Law & Business Symposium: Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility

Law School graduate Ted Mathas ’92 will deliver the keynote address at the Fifth Annual Law & Business Symposium on Friday, February 25 at the Law School.  Moving beyond traditional “corporate ethics” theory and practice, the symposium will address the pressures and incentives motivating companies to act (or fail to act) in socially responsible ways while meeting stakeholders’ expectations of value.  The event will begin with the keynote address at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m.

Other symposium speakers include Walter Bardenwerper ’76 (VP, GC and Secretary, Towers Watson), Bill Carmichael ’68 (Chair, Columbia Funds), Bill Crutchfield (Founder, Crutchfield Electronics), Tim Ferguson (Founding partner, Chairman, Nextstreet), Ed Freeman (Darden School of Business), Professor George Rutherglen (UVa School of Law), Dean Krehmeyer (Director, Business Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics), Mary Ann Leeper (Founder, The Female Health Company), and Charlie Rappold ’77 (Vice Chairman and COO, ConvergEx Group).

Box lunches will be provided for attendees. The symposium and lunch are free, but please respond so that we will know how much food to order for the event.
